July and August usually means vacation time in Oregon. The Chamber has been continually active through the summer with the golf tournament (thanks to HomeStreet Bank and all our sponsors) and a lot of travelers visiting Lake Oswego for shopping, dining, walking, and picking up maps and directories at the Chamber office.Registration for the 2018-19 Leadership Lake Oswego series continues through this month. Click here for registration materials. Please encourage your employees, friends and LO Citizens to continue to build our community partnerships.Networking for our member businesses never stops on Fridays and this summer, we’re pleased to be booked through September with upcoming Fridays at Uptown Market, On a Whim Studios, Zupan’s, Skin by Lovely, The Garden Corner, Banner Bank and the Adult Community Center.Don’t forget the Classic Car and Boat Show around town this weekend, August 18-19 – I’m pictured in the last newsletterwith my favorite Maxwell at last year’s event. Click here to link to the free activities in town this weekend.  Your Chamber Board and Government Affairs committee are pleased to announce that the Chamber will be interviewing the increasing number of citizens filing to run for three open city council seats and the two candidates for State Senator, District 19 (Dave Paulson, R / Rob Wagner, D). The Chamber will then host a candidate’s city council forum with business-related questions for candidates on Tuesday, September 18 at Oswego Lake Country Club. Register online after August 21.
