Village Flower Baskets

2023 was our 33rd year for the Village Flower basket program! This Lake Oswego program has received the highest honor of being selected for the prestigious National “America In Bloom” award. The Garden Corner hangs the baskets in May and takes care of them, watering and feeding throughout the summer to keep them beautiful for public enjoyment. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of the donors, both individuals and businesses, who make it possible for this gorgeous display to continue year after year. Help us ensure that flower baskets are back for 2024. Click “Donate” above or see instructions and Donor Club levels below and make your tax-deductible donation today!

History

In 1990, Doug Oliphant, past Chamber president, and a group of volunteers brought the Village Flower Basket program to Lake Oswego. In a rousing show of community spirit typical of Lake Oswego, a volunteer committee has raised funds and coordinated the program every year since.

Jonn Karsseboom, owner of The Garden Corner, has partnered with the Chamber for all 33 years of the program. He plants the baskets months in advance of the May hanging. His team champions the ongoing maintenance through the summer to keep the baskets blooming, healthy and lively. If that wasn’t enough, Jonn stepped in during the pandemic and generously offered his crew to hang the baskets.
