Parks and Recreation Department

The City of Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Department operates one of the most active parks & recreation systems of its size in the Portland metro area.  The Department oversees the development and management of over 620 acres of parks and natural areas.  In addition, the Department manages four recreational facilities, including the Adult Community Center, Charlie S. Brown Water Sports Center, Lake Oswego Indoor Tennis Center and Luscher Farm.  When complete in the summer of 2024, the Department will also oversee the new Recreation and Aquatics Center. A 9-hole Executive golf course will join the RAC on the former site of the Lake Oswego Municipal Golf Course with construction expected to begin in 2023. The City is also in the “find the funding” process for the Rassekh Park project, which will provide multi-sport fields and a skatepark on Stafford Road.

The Department provides a variety of recreation, education, and human service programs focused on health and wellness.  Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation also coordinates over fifty events annually that enrich the community and add to the City’s economic vitality, including the Summer of Music Concerts, Movies in the Park, Star Spangled Parade & Celebration, Christmas Tree Festival, and more.  For more information about Parks & Recreation programs and services, please visit www.lakeoswego.city/parksrec or call 503-675-2549.
