The 6th Annual Wine Walk was a huge hit last Saturday (October 6). You can mark your calendar now for the first Saturday in October, 2019!

500 people visited 27 business locations over the three hour period tasking fine wines from Oregon, the West Coast and around the World. Thanks to everyone who was involved and thank you to all our participants who included locals and out-of-towners as far as Florida. Special thanks to title sponsor, Harnish Properties.

Oregon weather is looking good for the next week and the 250 flower baskets around town are at their peak. That means it’s almost time for the flower baskets to be put to rest. In preparation for the 29th season in May, remember if you “give today, they’ll be blooming in May.” You can find more information about the flwoer baskets on this Chamber website. The estimated program costs are about $82,000 per year to maintain the baskets from May through October.

Representatives from Clackamas County Public Health Division met with the Chamber’s government affairs committee last week. More information will followi in upcoming newsletters abuot tobacco and nicotine use among teenagers in the County. The committee is considering whether an educaitonal session might be useful for Chamber members.

The Committee also heard from the Cities of Portland and Lake Oswego about disposal of fats, oils and greases (FOG). Watch the newsletter for more information about upcoming education sessions for businesses produgin these items that transfer into out water system.

Finally, the Chamber offices wil be closed Wednesday and Thursday, October 24-25 while staff atttends the State of Oregon Chamber Convention in Eugene.
